Amarok are werewolf creatures that appear in the Dwarf Mines, initially as enemies. However, after meeting with the head Amarok, Walter, Kiyan and Eara learn that the Amarok are actually friendly creatures, but have been feared by the Dwarf miners and so, have been forced to withdraw deeper into the mines.

Walter reveals that the Amarok become violent because of the full moon and are uncontrollable. Walter, stuck in his Amarok form, asks for Kiyan's help in obtaining the Purity Stone, an object causing them to change from werewolves into humans.


​Walter the AmarokEdit

Walter is the Head Amarok that Kiyan had to fight. Walter reveals the true nature of the Amarok. Although Kiyan is indifferent in sparing him, Eara convinces him to ally with the Amarok, and thus, allying with the other Amaroks. Initially, their was a misunderstanding from the Dwarf Mayor about the Amarok until they obtained the Purity Stone and only the human hosts remained. Walter, along with the other Amarok returned to human after obtaining the stone. In gratitude, he gave the Purity Stone Necklace and left the mines.


EtymologyEdit

An amarok, or amaroq, is a gigantic gray wolf in Inuit mythology, said to stalk and devour any person foolish enough to hunt alone at night. Unlike real wolves who hunt in packs, amaroks hunt alone
